Mission Statement
"The purpose of The Tim Jones Ball is to celebrate the survivors that have endured the battle against cancer and to show our appreciation to the families and friends that have stood by and supported them."
Approximately 1500 people die each day in the United States due to cancer. Another 3,400 people are diagnosed with cancer each day in our country. This disease has touched the lives of almost everyone you know, either through a friend, a family member, or having to battle it firsthand.
Our friend, Tim Jones is one of those people that was directly affected by this life changing disease. On November 18, 2003 Tim was diagnosed with testicular cancer, the very next day he had surgery to remove the tumor. After recovering from that surgery it was discovered that the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes in his abdomen. Tim went through chemotherapy treatment at the Missouri Cancer Center under the care of Dr. Timothy Pluard from December to February 2004. Once Tim had regained strength he went in for his final surgery at the Indiana University Simon Cancer Center. On March 23, 2004 Tim was declared cancer free. Tim has continued checkups with Dr.Pluard and his staff at Siteman Cancer Center.
This event bears Tim's name but it not just for him, it's for all survivors and those that supported them. We hope that you share your invitation with anyone that would like to join us in this celebration.
Siteman Cancer Center will be the beneficiary of all proceeds raised at the event. Siteman is an international leader in cancer treatment, research, prevention, education and community outreach.
